I've (re)discovered genealogy (a word I will never learn to spell correctly) on the Internet, as a social phenomenon - a genealogy 2.0, if you will.

I have been using Google, Mormons and other sites in my previous quest for relatives - dead or alive - but, until now, it's been lonely work.

A couple of weeks ago I stumbled upon (via a blog about log-in interfaces) a site that combines genealogy and social networking. It's possible to invite your relatives (at least the living ones with email adresses) and build a family tree together. The fun starts when the invited relatives also invite their relatives, thus making the tree large and wide.

The main flaw of the site is that there isn't any possibility to merge trees (yet), so if you're related to me in any way, please contact me so that we can build our tree together.
